Bunnyman is a 2011 film. It is a horror film. Run time is one hour and thirty minutes. Bunnyman stars Cheryl Texiera ( Known for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Girl Meets World, The Conners, and NCIS: Los Angeles), Matthew Albrechet (Known for The Artist, Listen to Your Heart, The Eves, and Buck Wild) and Alaina Agianci (Only known for Bunnyman). I saw the name and became interested in it, and then the box art, which told me either this is going to be a complete schlock fest with cheese pilled a mile high, or boring as crap. Let’s see how this one plays out shall we?

Interest: My interest level in this movie fluctuated drastically in its entirety, although I can tell you at the beginning I was excited and honestly surprised, then my interest dropped because everything that happened in the first 10 minutes, went away, and it was all completely different from the beginning, and never is mentioned again. Then most of the movie is pretty boring or average, and then the last 20 minutes are interesting, so really this film should just be a half hour and it is an utter waste, most will turn this off in 25 minutes or less.

Acting: The acting is okay. Most of the people have acted in other things and pretty well in those other things. It translated well into this movie, and everyone's character is believable (well besides Bunnyman, but… hes a fucking crazy mauled figure wearing a bunny suit to hide his disfigurements, but the part is still played well I suppose) The problem is no one does above average or better. Looking at the movie at parts, I’d say that the acting may be one of the highest points for it.

Storyline: The storyline is bland, boring, and very poorly thought out. They get chased by a truck for twenty minutes, and it is all almost mystical, but it still isn’t that good. The big overall idea should have been “Slasher film with a man in a bunny suit” but they tried to make it weird mashup of several different films, and it just Frankenstein’d to a point of the viewer going “What the hell is going on?!”. Really disappointing.

Intensity: Bunnyman is not very intense. It has an intense moment or two (typically when a death happens). It seems almost done ironically in the rest of the “intense” scenes. I feel like they maybe even tried to over sell the moment, and it doesn’t work out, almost ever.

Fights, Guns or Otherwise: Typically in horror movies that aren’t good, usually you can count on the banter between characters to at least make things a little fun and interesting. Not in Bunnyman, They just scream and bitch about what to do, and unlike in a good horror movie which draws you in and you go “oh no what can you do?!” in Bunnyman you go “Just run, steal the truck, club the guy with the chainsaw that ran out of gas, Fucking anything!” and it is frustrating to see this just fail on most fronts. When there is a fight I am at least glad to say it is some enjoyment, but not nearly enough to redeem this movie from the depths of schlock hell it wants me to endure.

Nudity: There is no nudity in Bunnyman, and this actually hurts it in my opinion, it could have been one of those horror films where teens are just just naked running around, and that doesn’t happen here at all. And that is also okay.

Horror: Bunnyman has very little in the horror element. It is weird, and creepy, but most of it isn’t scary, or make you go “this is what I’ve feared my whole life.”. No this film has one or two horror spots, and the rest is people dying in ways that should be interesting, but the lack of caring of the characters or what happens to them, good or bad, makes the deaths so forgettable.

Drama: There is a modest amount of drama in the film. Yes, among the bitching of the characters in film, that I dislike, if you listen closely there is drama going on. Very shallow drama, that doesn’t amount to much, but it is drama. It may be the best thing in Bunnyman. And it still isn’t fantastic.

Gore: There is little gore in Bunnyman, and it is a shame. I was expecting at least this to hopefully save the movie, and there is even 2 chainsaw kills and none of it works out, it all falls on its face. There is a enough to make sure ak id can’t watch it but otherwise if you’re like 12 or 13, you should be able to watch it no problem.

Logic: Logic in the movie was okay, it left questions that I want answered (and fun fact: this is a trilogy franchise) but nothing wrapped up. As I alluded to earlier, you wonder why people do such dumb things the whole time during the film and why they can’t make a full brain cell between them all.

Did I enjoy this movie? No, Do I suggest it? Also no, unless you like ripping into movies. It isn’t fun, it isn’t interesting, and it is an hour and a half long. Don’t do it just don’t. The final score is 42.5% Do what you will with this movie and knowledge. Until Next Time!
