Loaded is a 2008 film. It is a action, crime, drama film. Its run time is one hour and thirty-eight minutes long. It stars Jesse Metcalfe, ( Starred in John Tucker Must Die, Desperate Housewives, and The Other End Of The Line), Corey Large (Not known so much for acting, but was a producer for films such as The November Man, Frozen Ground, and It Follows) and Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason, While you Were sleeping, and in the TV show Dawson’s Creek). I think as it is an action film, it may be harder for this film to fail. The quick summary of this film is “Because of affluence, a young man’s life spirals into debauchery of sex, drugs and violence.” But let’s see how this movie fair shall we?

Interest: My interest levels fluctuated greatly in the movie. In the beginning I was about to call it a wash, it was slow and really was hard to want, but when action hits it helps out tremendously. But I'd say the interest is average at best. The dull parts are really dull, but the action is entertaining.

Acting: The acting is scattered I’d say, with no one being super terrible, but no one honestly being excellent either. It almost seems like a made for TV movie in terms of acting, where people feel stiff, try to be too cool or too macho, or too dumb, than most people on Earth.

Storyline: The storyline is simple, and there is no true thought in it. Sadly as a storyline, this is more of a stereotypical modern day gang banger, just set up with a rich white family. It doesn’t do much in making it really any different than any other gang movie in the last 10 years that wasn’t about the mafia. Every once in awhile you get a funny situation, but it’s trying to play it straight while being corny somehow and it just isn’t meshing well. Also the pacing of action in this movie is just bad. They expect to do a lot in a short period of tie and it makes it lack luster.

Intensity: The movies intensity is all over the place, either getting the intensity right, or the intensity is to me off. Maybe I’m missing it, but it typically isn’t very intense, and when it is intense, there’s no real holding on to the intensity, it just is there then it isn’t. And I believe why it isn’t there is because timing is just bad, they expect to do these great things in a 5 minute frame and it just doesn’t fit.

Fights, Guns or Otherwise: The Catagory I thought would be saving this film sadly didn’t help it much either at least on a physical front. On a verbal front it is also kind of bland and almost cookie cutter. On the Physical side we get guns, some blood shed and the one funny/unique thing a toilet top used to knock someone out (but only for a quick moment, as he is up again to take a final punch) and verbally I Gues we get some F bombs, and one good line about being in a house “so claustrophobic that I can’t breath.” is a pretty solid line, but none of it is incredibly harsh.

Nudity: If you like boobs, this movie has them pretty strewn about from beginning to end. It didn’t really aid the movie any in terms of moving the plot or helping the movie besides that it is nudity. So yay boobs?

Crime: Well there is a decent bit of crime in this movie, underage drinking, drugs, lots of drugs, and a killing or two, plus a whole gang that exists. What we see is not the worst thing out there, but it does showcase the problems with falling into the wrong crowd can do. Especially if they’re all A-holes

Drama: The drama in this film is that we watch a scumbag become more scummy, a guy in a moderately good place fall because of scummy guy, and a girl who stops falling for the guy who fell from grace and falls for scummy dude, and parents who are also not fantastic people, but try to disguise it with money.

Logic: The logic is similar to a hallmark movie. You can see the plot a mile away happening and how everyone one is going to act and how things will play out. I suppose in one sense, that’s a good thing, that the logic made sense, but in another, it makes a dull movie that is so predictable that it isn’t fun.

So is the movie worth watching? No some how a movie with a $15 million dollar budget made something that I found mediocre at best as a movie. And that is even with it being an “action” movie. it’s slow in the slow parts, fast in the fast parts, and doesn’t let the viewer enjoy at least what I’d expect them to enjoy, which is the action. I can’t really say that it would even be fun to rip on, because in an hour and a half, they did what movies in the action world do in like twenty to thirty minutes. That being said if you had the right group of friends you could rip on it, but I don’t expect anyone to make this their go to ripping on movie. The total score was 54% and it is honestly to high but it didn’t do anything terrible. it’s so average it’s boring, and I really don’t suggest watching this. Until Next Time!
